The most commonly used slewing ring design for

 

  • antenna measurements has the following technical characteristics:
  • number of rotation axes - 3 (azimuth, elevation, roll);
  • number of linear axes - 1 (linear slider);
  • range of movement along the axes of rotation - ± 180 °;
  • range of linear movement - 0 - 1000 mm;
  • the minimum step of movement along the axes of rotation - 0.1 °;
  • the minimum step of movement along the linear axis is 0.1 mm;
  • the accuracy of positioning along the axes of rotation - 0.05 °;
  • the accuracy of occupying a position along the linear axis is 0.05 mm.

Together with specialized software and measuring equipment, this OPU design allows measurements of the following characteristics of radio - emitting equipment:

 

 

  • amplitude and phase radiation patterns for the main and cross polarization (volumetric and cross - sections);
  • polarization characteristics;
  • gain;
  • directional factor;
  • phase center coordinates;
  • radiation pattern width at a given level;
  • restoration of the amplitude - phase distribution in the antenna aperture;
  • group time delay in the signal antenna;
  • input resistance.

The main advantage of the positioners built on the EMD of our own design is the absence of a mechanical gearbox, which ensures their quiet operation, variable speed of movement, high accuracy and high reliability. Modules of three types have been developed and manufactured: circular, linear and sector.

At the same time, circular modules can be made with a hollow shaft, which makes it possible to place a coaxial rotating transition in the center of the drive, lay power and control cables, eliminating the need for their bends.

The standard delivery set includes a rotary support device (OCP), a control controller and operational documentation containing a list of device control commands.


 

 


In accordance with the terms of reference, it is possible to supply an OPU complete with the following additional elements:

 

  • vector network analyzer (VNA);
  • software (software) that performs the functions of calibration, adjustment, automation of the measurement process and display of results;
  • set of transmitting and reference antennas;
  • a set of auxiliary passive and active nodes: transitions, amplifiers, cables, etc.

Specialized software allows you to manage the complex and collect data from all of its elements. Working with the software involves measuring characteristics in both automatic and manual control modes.


The software provides the ability to carry out adjustment by several parameters, calibration, as well as create databases of reference antennas and settings profiles - all these functions allow to reduce the error in multiple measurements and ensure the repeatability of the measured characteristics.

The intuitive interface allows for operator training in a short time.

The software has a convenient report generator in which you can choose the format for saving data and the structure of the report.
The software is compatible with vector network analyzers from leading international and domestic manufacturers.
