Description
Few plants are as elegant as this clump-forming reed. Graceful, arching, deep green, triangular stalks are topped by hair-like umbrellas that remind one of fireworks. Native to North Africa, it can reach 6' - 8' tall and so needs sufficient space. Naturally growing in water or moist soil, it's very popular in water gardens. When used in small pools or fish ponds, plant it in its own underwater container to keep it from crowding other plants & to simplify maintenance. With regular watering, it also does well in garden soil in our coastal climate & makes a striking, tropical looking accent plant. Fabulous in a container & a wonderful and unusual cut flower.
