Biodiesel

Biodiesel, so called fatty acid alkyl esters, is a renewable fuel alternative for fossil diesel made from natural sources such asvegetable oils and animal fats. The largest possible source of suitable oil comes from oil crops such as oil palm, rapeseed or soybean. Biodiesel which is non-toxic and biodegradable, is most commonly produced from the process called tranesterification by reacting triglyceride (oil) with alcohol and a catalyst. The resulting chemical reaction produces alkly ester or biodiesel and the by-product called glycerin.
